Roman Reigns returned to WWE at SummerSlam and in just one week, the Big Dog has successfully become the Universal Champion.
Apart from this, The Big Dog, who is now going to be the top heel on SmackDown, will also have Paul Heyman in his corner as his advocate. Heyman had significant contributions in making Reigns the Champion, as we exclusively reported earlier.
Now, according to a new report by Wrestling News, Roman Reigns’ current WWE Universal Title reign might not end any time soon. In fact, the report states that Vince McMahon plans to keep the title on The Big Dog until WrestleMania at least.
The report also states that the company expects Reigns to be turned into a babyface eventually and that he will now have significant amount of creative input on his promos.
A WWE source said, “Vince is not playing around. He wants Roman to hold onto that belt until WrestleMania at least. Everyone knows the fans will cheer him and we all expect him to be a babyface sooner than later but the games with the silly verbiage in promos are done with. Roman will have more input this time with his promos.”
It looks like the Big Dog is going to have a long and dominant run as the Universal Champion this time around. However, this time around, things will be very interesting because of Reigns’ new heel persona and Paul Heyman in his corner.
