Mandy Rose defeated Sonya Deville at SummerSlam, but the stakes were higher than first expected. Deville and Rose were initially slated to battle in a hair match, but that was changed for good reason.

The hair match was changed to a loser leaves WWE stipulation at Sonya Deville’s attorney’s request. This was due to the court case with her stalker.

Ringside News was first to exclusively report that a hair match was on the table for those two. We broke the news a whole month prior to it ever been alluded to on television. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Deville wasn’t supposed to have her head completely shaven, but she was in for a drastic new look.

The original idea was not to shave her bald, but to cut off most of her hair for some sort of an acting role. No word on how long she’ll be gone but she’s not leaving WWE.

Sonya Deville will be back in WWE, and she might have shorter hair due to an acting role. She also has a pretty difficult time ahead of her as the trial of her stalker will force her to relive a very scary moment in her life until the judge makes a ruling and Philip Thomas II is brought to justice.
