Eric Bischoff was Executive Director of WWE Friday Night SmackDown for about three months. Then he was fired. Now all he can do is watch WWE television like the rest of us. He doesn’t like what he sees either.
During UnSKripted with Chris Featherstone., Eric Bischoff spoke his mind about the current WWE product. He straight-up said that it sucks right now and it’s only getting “worse and worse.”
“Storylines suck right now. They suck. Storylines are getting worse and worse. This the one thing that I feel adamant about. You look at what WWE did at SmackDown (at) ThunderDome over the weekend. Such a phenomenal job from a production point of view.”
Then he took aim at the ThunderDome. Despite the novel gimmick and presentation of the idea, Bischoff isn’t impressed.
“What they’re not good at is basic fundamental storytelling. They’re just not. I love them and I have many friends there, who I love dearly. It doesn’t change the fact that their storyline, the architecture, their approach to stories, their discipline with stories, sucks. Until somebody comes along and takes an honest look at storytelling and the structure of storytelling and the formulas that are used, it’s going to be hit or miss forever.”
Eric Bischoff will continue doing as he pleases, and so will WWE. He might not like what they are presenting, but the post SummerSlam episode of RAW did see an increase. That’s a good thing, but they still have a lot of work to do if you ask Easy E.
