WWE went for months during the COVID-19 pandemic without actually testing anyone who attended their tapings. They weren’t allowing live fans in, but they did permit friends and family to come in for a few weeks.
After a positive coronavirus test was discovered, the news got out and the company was forced to take action. Now everyone is tested prior to each taping.
The initial wave of coronavirus tests in WWE found several positive results. WWE has forbidden Superstars from disclosing positive tests citing confidentiality reasons saying that their independent contractors can’t reveal their own medical data.
During Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer noted that he was told WWE has discovered 37 positive coronavirus tests so far. He then said that number could have gone up since it was told to him.
Renee Young, Kayla Braxton, Adam Pearce, Jamie Noble and others came forward with their positive test rests. No active WWE Superstar has publicly revealed that they are positive, but several have missed weeks of television.
WWE will continue taking all precautions they can to guard themselves from COVID-19. Roman Reigns returned from a hiatus which he took due to going into quarantine. Kevin Owens previously approached Vince McMahon about the lack of masks and social distancing backstage in WWE. This was rectified by a stiff system of fining people for breaking those rules.
