BIG SPOILER For WWE SummerSlam Title Match

WWE is putting the finishing touches on SummerSlam, and that includes the card. AJ Styles is the current Intercontinental Champion, but he’s not in any current program.

According to PW Insider, AJ Styles is slated to take on Jeff Hardy at SummerSlam. This IC Title program could lead to a great match, but the company doesn’t have much time to get the wheels in motion.

WWE is taping SmackDown today, and an episode of RAW. They will then start live broadcasts every week from that point on. This could be an interesting transition for the company. They could also be broadcasting their content from the Amway Center from now on.

Furthermore, it was reported that this angle “was the direction planned for the SmackDown episode that was slated to be taped last week but was canceled.” 

It was recently thought that Matt Riddle would be in line to face AJ Styles at SummerSlam. Riddle is currently engaged in a program with King Corbin. Big E’s new singles run was also thought to include an IC Title shot. It appears that Styles vs Hardy is going to happen at the biggest party of the summer instead.
