WWE debuted the RAW Underground segment this week, and it got plenty of people talking. Erik from the Viking Raiders was featured in a segment where he won a very quick, yet brutal fight.
Viking Raiders were a team long before WWE and the two had many wars in New Japan Pro Wrestling. One recent tweet from Erik about RAW Underground piqued the interest of 1/2 of Guerrillas Of Destiny.
Plenty of fans remember the war at NJPW Dominion in 2017 when Guerrillas Of Destiny took on the Viking Raiders who were known as War Machine at the time. GOD defeated War Machine that night, but you never know if those two teams could meet again.
Company lines separate Erik and Ivar from their former rivals, but Tanga Loa noticed when Erik posted a short clip from his RAW Underground performance. He was hitting a brutal throw followed by a knee to the face to his opponent.
“I am comfortable with violence,” Erik tweeted out as a caption to this video. Tanga Loa replied to Erik saying: “Me too.” Loa also included an emoji of a face wearing sunglasses.
This cool comment from Tanga Loa likely wasn’t a tease about a jump to WWE. It is certainly an indication that they are paying attention to the RAW Underground concept.
This idea could be the start of a long-running series for WWE. RAW Underground might also be the kind of thing that Vince McMahon forgets about in a couple of weeks. It’s pretty clear that there are Superstars who are more than ready for the opportunity.
