Matt Cardona Reveals How Nervous He Was Showing Up In AEW

Matt Cardona showed up in AEW to help out his old friend Cody. The former Zack Ryder signed a five-appearance deal, but odds are he’ll be around for much longer.

While speaking to Busted Open Radio, Cardona said it was strange introducing himself to people he’s seen on television and he knew about for a long time. He knew those wrestlers, but he didn’t really know them. Suddenly, he was sharing a locker room and felt like a new kid in school.

Cardona stated that he felt welcomed by everyone as the locker room accepted him with open arms.

“For me, I was nervous. I was walking in there like the new kid in school. All these people, whether I saw them wrestle or I saw them on social media, I knew everybody but I didn’t really know them. It was weird introducing myself to these people who I know. Some people I watched wrestle for years. Everyone was very welcoming and very inviting. They made me feel like I was there the whole time.”

Matt Cardona will hopefully have plenty of time to get to know all of the stars in AEW as he begins a fresh start in his pro wrestling journey. Cody Rhodes stated that Zack Ryder will get over again. It turns out that Cardona will get over while using his real name in a company that Cody helped build.
