WWE is taping Raw today for tonight and next week. They have had one crazy time getting that accomplished.
Ringside News reported last night that Vince McMahon nixed a majority of the proposed segments during a call on Friday night. That four-hour call left the company’s writers with a WrestleMania week’s worth of work to do.
We also exclusively reported that there was utter chaos backstage at Raw this week. PW Insider reports that WWE has inserted several backstage segments very late into the creative process.
There was quite a bit of re-writing, specifically a lot of backstage segments being added to the shows late in the process.
WWE generated a lot of interest for Raw this week. Not only was it a wreck backstage, but the show will also see the debut of a new faction bent on shaking up everything that WWE is all about right now.
The company is coming off their biggest profit ever after their last quarterly numbers. Their viewership still needs work, so we might see some of those innovative stories that McMahon promised start to unfold this week.
