Randy Orton has had a lot of allies in the pro wrestling business. Ric Flair is certainly a great person to have in your corner.
The Viper and the Nature Boy go back to their Evolution days. Flair and Orton’s father Cowboy Bob Orton go back even further. This seems like the perfect recipe for an onscreen angle.
While speaking with TV Insider, Ric Flair revealed that he’s trying to work on a situation where he is managing Randy Orton at the biggest party of the summer. It only makes sense.
“The thing with Orton is it’s a real-life story. His dad and I have been friends since the ’70s. We probably started around the same time. I watched Randy grow up. I was there the day he came up with Dave [Bautista] in Evolution. I don’t know if I would have that same impact on a lot of people. I certainly would love the opportunity, but I think it would have to be one of those scenarios. I’m trying to get me to manage Randy against [Drew] McIntyre [at SummerSlam]. I don’t know. I haven’t heard back, but it’s not because I’m not trying.”
We’ll have to see if WWE makes that happen. Flair was showing up on RAW consistently despite the threat of the coronavirus pandemic. After news broke that his wife Wendy Barlow tested positive for COVID-19, Ric Flair hasn’t been on RAW.
Ric Flair has provided an update on his wife and she is doing better. We continue to wish her the best on a speedy recovery.
