AEW & NXT have been going against each other week after week in the Wednesday Nights Ratings War. As of late, AEW has been triumphant over NXT, having secured decisive victories in key demographics week after week.
NXT on the other hand have also been stacking their cards in response to AEW’s programming and have won in overall ratings multiple times in recent weeks.
On WWE’s Annual Shareholder’s Conference Call, Triple H was asked if AEW has been taking some of WWE’s Market Shares in recent history. Hunter replied by saying that since AEW is something exciting and fresh, there’s obviously some interest in it.
However, the King of Kings said that WWE is focused on their own product and the development of their performers. He added that the company has been doing incredibly good for decades and will ensure that it does so in the future as well.
To me, there’s a moment in time when you begin something and it’s very exciting and it’s fresh and there’s some interest in it, certainly. But it’s a big world. We continue to be focused on our product, continue to be focused on the development of our stars and our performers. And as Vince said earlier, we have a very long track record of doing this incredibly successfully for many, many, many years, and we will continue to do so.
The emergence of AEW has certainly made things interesting within the pro-wrestling industry. WWE keeps close tabs on all of its competitors including AEW.
Many former WWE Superstars have landed in All Elite Wrestling and the likes of Cody Rhodes, Jim Ross, Chris Jericho and Matt Hardy are at the forefront of the company.
