WWE needed to change a ton of plans for RAW this week. The plans for SummerSlam don’t appear to be 100% solid right now either.
The Street Profits are still RAW Tag Team Champions, but their next challengers might be a matter of debate. The direction seems very confusing right now unless WWE plans on going a different direction once again.
Dave Meltzer said on Wrestling Observer Radio (transcription by Ringside News) that WWE had plans for Street Profits vs Andrade and Angel Garza at Extreme Rules. They couldn’t make that work because the Profits were off television. Now the situation seems to be a bit more confusing.
“The original plan for SummerSlam was the title match with Street Profits vs [Garza & Andrade]. They looked like they were building it for the last pay-per-view, but the Street Profits were out like everybody else and so they couldn’t do it — they didn’t know if they could do it so they obviously didn’t do it for the last pay-per-view.”
Everything seems to be up in the air right now as different teams are losing momentum so it doesn’t necessarily appear that a title match is in the future. This is an interesting situation that could see WWE changing their plans for the RAW Tag Team Titles.
WWE has needed to change a lot of things around in the last couple of weeks. It appears they’re not done by a long shot.
