NWA lost their vice president when Dave Lagana resigned from the position. He was involved in the #SpeakingOut movement as allegations came out about him. Lagana has since denied those accusations of misconduct.
Billy Corgan released a statement today about the NWA’s status following rumors that they were closing down. That is not the plan, but they are still trying to figure out how to do a show in such a complicated situation.
Fightful reports that the NWA is still on the hunt for a new VP. At one point they even considered Nick Aldis, but he didn’t have the qualifications.
NWA World’s Heavyweight Champion Nick Aldis was considered for a VP spot, but doesn’t have the same skill set that Lagana presented.
It is also reported that wrestlers are “very fond” of Billy Corgan as he reportedly treats people respectfully. It was also mentioned that Corgan “wasn’t very active in the company as of late.”
We will have to see what happens next with the NWA. They are not closing up shop right now as Corgan has full intentions of carrying on. It might take a while because they haven’t seemed to put much together yet.
