Kevin Owens is the Superstar who had a discussion with Vince McMahon about people ignoring mask mandates and social distancing at the Performance Center. A fining system was soon instituted and now everyone is wearing a mask.

Owens is in a very important position right now. Given the current landscape in WWE, he could be in line for a big push back to the main event. Vince McMahon obviously didn’t want Kevin Owens to go home.

During Wrestling Observer Radio (transcription by Ringside News), Dave Meltzer discussed Kevin Owens’ situation backstage when it comes to the mask mandate. It wasn’t an over dramatic ordeal, but he did have a frank discussion with Mr. McMahon.

“He was the reason, but it wasn’t like he made a stand and everything like that, but he was going to go home if it didn’t happen and he was written into the show. It’s actually very important because if Mysterio doesn’t sign you know it goes Owens and Seth Rolls as the new program.”

WWE might have started that program this week by revisiting Owens and Rollins’ WrestleMania rivalry. It was noted that “Owens is figured high on the card.”

Kevin Owens did get what he wanted and now the backstage environment at the WWE Performance Center shows a much greater awareness to the coronavirus pandemic.
