Impact Wrestling almost saw a former champion return to the company, but COVID-19 had other plans.

Taylor Wilde recently teased a return to the company. It turns out that there was more than teasing going on. There were plans for her to return.

While speaking with Wrestle Zone, Taylor Wilde revealed that she is now a firefighter in Canada. She could have crossed the border and used a professional athletes’ exception, but she didn’t want to miss two weeks’ worth of work due to quarantining herself.

When they opened, although I could travel as an essential worker, the problem being is I would still need an American work visa,” Wilde said, “and compounded with that I am a frontline worker. I’m a firefighter and dealing with a vulnerable community. If I were to travel I would then have to be quarantined for two weeks and miss two weeks of work. It was something that on all angles, did not make sense.

Impact Wrestling could have a lot of surprises at Slammiversary on July 18th. Odds are Taylor Wilde won’t be re-joining the company. She has a lot going on at home and can’t afford to take the time needed to wrestle for Impact Wrestling once again.

You can never count out a return for Taylor Wilde down the line. Things with the novel coronavirus will need to dramatically improve first.
