A lot of fans noticed that Drew Gulak had “HAVOC” written on his tape during this week’s show. There is a reason for that as he paid homage to his recently passed friend Danny Havoc.

The two got to know each other on the indies and worked together as well. Havoc’s passing hit a lot of people incredibly hard and the tributes kept coming. Jon Moxley revealed designs that Havoc did for him including his first AEW t-shirt.

Danny Havoc gave everything he had in the ring. His career was cut short and his life sadly ended far too soon as well. Gulak had a chance to speak about Danny Havoc following SmackDown (transcribed by Ringside News).

“Danny was someone who I trained with from day one in wrestling and I know if it wasn’t for him I probably wouldn’t be here. I probably wouldn’t have been so motivated growing up in wrestling. It’s not easy. Sadly I lost him a few weeks ago and I wanted to memorialize him a little bit, so I thought what better way than to go out there and fight for the Intercontinental Championship for my friend Danny Havoc. Bittersweet moment. I’d like to think I not only made Daniel Bryan proud, but I also made [Danny Havoc] proud as well. I can promise you and I can promise everyone at home this ain’t the end.”

This is far from the end for Drew Gulak. He just signed a new WWE contract during a pandemic. That means WWE really wanted to keep him.

This was a pretty great dedication that Drew Gulak was able to do during SmackDown this week. It just goes to prove that Danny Havoc’s memory will last a very, very long time.
