WWE has officially closed a deal to purchase EVOLVE. They have now fully acquired the rights to the company from former owner Gabe Sapolsky.

PW Insider has confirmed that this is a done deal for WWE to acquire EVOLVE. This means a lot for not only indie wrestling, but also possible additions to the WWE Network.

It was reported that this deal was “closed after several months of negotiations.” There have been rumors floating around for a while that this deal was happening, but it didn’t come together until just recently.

WWE aired EVOLVE’s 10th Anniversary show on the WWE Network in July of last year. This practice of airing EVOLVE shows is likely to continue, but official plans have not been laid out.

EVOLVE hosted a plethora of main roster talent on their way up the indies. Their library could be worth a lot to WWE.

Gabe Sapolsky just recently sent out message to EVOLVE talent in a private Facebook group saying that he is closing the group. He stated that they won’t be having any more shows, but he encouraged them to keep in touch.

This is a very new deal so specifics have not been released. It is unknown at this time if WWE will run any events through the EVOLVE brand.
