Mickie James hasn’t wrestled since tearing her ACL last year, but she was pretty close to the ring before the novel coronavirus came through and changed so many plans.
James told Chris Van Vliet that WWE’s doctor actually approved her in-ring return. The COVID-19 pandemic caused WWE to change plans for her return to the ring.
She then stated that it’s not risk the risk of showing up at the Performance Center if there is nothing for her to do.
“The doc had already cleared me, so I was literally just getting that last two weeks to get cleared to come back to in-ring action and everything got shut down. So, I went home and I just haven’t been back since.”
“There’s no need to take that risk of going there if I’m not doing anything. I would rather bide my time and wait for the perfect opportunity.”
WWE needs star power right now. Vince McMahon would much rather book bigger established Superstars rather than build new ones. We’ll have to see how long Mickie James stays away from the squared circle.
Right now she seems happy waiting out the pandemic at home. She can also focus on her country music career.
