Kairi Sane has been off WWE television for a while. Her situation is pretty complicated right now.
Nia Jax launched Sane into the steel ring steps during RAW and Kairi Sane sustained a head laceration. She bled a lot and the match needed to be stopped so WWE medics could clean her up. Fightful reports that “there were already other plans for her at that time.”
It is reported that while her contract status is unclear, there were plans for her to go back to Japan in May. This would see her serving as “an ambassador for WWE in Japan.”
No details were given as to how her new role as Japanese ambassador will change her in-ring status. It was reported that there is no WWE expansion into Japan planned at the moment. This is due to the current COVID-19 pandemic.
WWE hasn’t spoken about Kairi Sane’s status for a number of weeks. It is reported that some in the company want her to continue wrestling. There are a lot of positive things said about her within the company, but it’s unclear how “this situation has developed over the past month.”
Kairi Sane’s Kabuki Warriors’ tag team partner Asuka is doing fine without her as RAW Women’s Champion. We will have to see if Sane eventually rejoins the Empress Of Tomorrow.
