Kevin Owens decided to not work the WWE television tapings. He is not taking the risk due to the outbreak of the novel coronavirus in WWE. Owens has his reasons for making this decision.
Ringside News exclusively reported how WWE feels about Kevin Owens taking this time off. They understand and it’s a similar situation to Roman Reigns.
Owens released a video statement where he explained his situation. He included a very simple caption of “Let’s try this,” as he provided some clarity about why he made this decision.
He explained that just over a month ago his wife’s grandfather died of COVID-19. Seeing their family go through that was terrible. They had to watch his funeral on Zoom. He said it was awful, but his story is just one thousands.
Owens pleaded people to wear a mask and be responsible. He also encouraged those who don’t want to wear a mask to not belittle those who do wear masks. He said that footage of that has popped up recently and it’s “sickening.”
He said that at worst social distancing and wearing a mask does nothing, but at best it saves lives. Not wearing a mask can spread this disease and make things worse.
Kevin Owens concluded his video message by encouraging people to help each other out during this difficult time. The coronavirus pandemic is not over which is was adamant about. You can watch his entire statement below.
