WWE has hit hard by the novel coronavirus. They didn’t test for months and only opted for medical screenings. Obviously temperature checks were only going to get them so far. Now they are in an extremely tricky situation as Superstars are positive for COVID-19.
Ringside News has learned that there are some concerning things going on backstage in the company. The more concerning thing is what is not going on: sharing information.
They are on full HIPPA information lockdown backstage in the company. Everything is being kept close to the vest and staff is not not getting many answers. It was described to us as “It’s a total disaster here” as they work without one clear voice to follow.
Superstars were asked not to share information about their tests. Multiple stories are going around as it was noted that there is “no one holding us all together.”
The grim situation around them is also unavoidable. It was told to us that “we are down here literally risking our lives!” WWE Superstars, staff, and production feel this same way as frustration is growing deep.
We have also had concern expressed to us about the Orlando International Airport that they must all use. That airport recently discovered 260 positive coronavirus cases out of a random sampling of 500 employees. It was also told to us that a lot of people would leave the company right now “if they had other jobs.” Options are limited during a pandemic across the board.
WWE is still planning to tape television today. They plan to record next week’s episode of Raw. The initial plan also called to record next week’s SmackDown and Raw’s episode two weeks from now.
