Marty Scurll’ name was mentioned in the #SpeakingOut movement. A Twitter user named “Kitten” claims that he was sexually inappropriate with her when she was 16 years old.
The accuser alleges that she was 16 and a regular at IPW events. Daniel Edler would allegedly buy her drinks. She was “incredibly drunk especially at 16 years old.”
She “bumped into Marty outside the party venue.” This is when Scurll allegedly said “let’s go back to the hotel, let’s f*ck.” Then she told her friend that she was going with Marty Scurll.
Her friend would not give her the keys to go to the hotel with Marty Scurll. She thought it was a bad idea. Scurll walked the girl back to her hotel room not knowing that she didn’t have the key to get in.
For context, it was kind of an independent, small hotel. Once we got outside my room, in this empty, quiet hallway, he sat on a chair and got his penis out and told me to suck it. So I did. After a little while he found a cupboard opposite my room full of sheets. He took me in there and got me to stand up, with my underwear pulled down. Remember, I’m 16 at this time. The whole time that he was getting me into position to stick his unprotected penis inside me, I was repeatedly saying “I’m sorry I’m a virgin.”
She also alleges that she was “raped by Dan Elder before” that point. Her friend showed up before Scurll could allegedly go through with intercourse and he stopped.
Marty Scurll responded saying he is aware of the young woman who “has bravely come forward with her account of sexual abuse by some members of the wrestling community in the UK 5 years ago, a community I was a part of.”
Scurll went on to say that he believed their encounter was consensual, “and the fact that the encounter was legal, is almost not the point.” 16 is the legal age of consent there.
He stated what concerns him is that she was a fan of wrestling and was made to feel unsafe. He said “that is not acceptable.” He also implored his fans to stop harassing her on social media.
We have yet to hear of any action taken against Marty Scurll. Keep checking back with Ringside News for more on this story and everything else going on in the pro wrestling world.
