Sammy Guevara Suspended From AEW Until Further Notice

Sammy Guevara made comments in 2016 that resurfaces as part of the #SpeakingOut movement. Now he is suspended from AEW.

All Elite Wrestling released a public statement on the matter. They stated that Sammy Guevara is suspended without pay until further notice. He will also be forced to undergo sensitivity training and his salary will be donated to a worthy charity.

AEW insists on doing our part to create a world of understanding and respect for humankind. We therefore strongly condemn the extremely offensive and hurtful words of Sammy Guevara. As such, effectively immediately, Sammy is suspended without pay until further notice. Sammy has agreed to undergo extensive sensitivity training, and upon completion, his future status within the company will be re-evaluated. During his suspension, his salary will be donated to the Women’s Center of Jacksonville.

It is unclear how this will change AEW’s on-going angles or how they will explain it on Dynamite. Guevara is a featured part of every show as a member of Chris Jericho’s Inner Circle.
