Paul Heyman had a select number of guys backstage. Those people are pretty worried around WWE right now.
The former RAW executive director was pushing names like Humberto Carrillo, The Street Profits, Zelina Vega, Aleister Black, and Buddy Murphy. Now that Heyman is no longer around to advocate for them it’s likely that Vince McMahon will have other ideas for his show.
During Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer discussed some of the names that Vince McMahon isn’t likely to squash in this new WWE creative change. It should be no big surprise to find out who Vince McMahon is likely to protect.
“I think the Drew stuff will stay… well I guess I shouldn’t say anything… I do think that Randy Orton and Charlotte Flair and Drew McIntyre are going to do well — and Seth Rollins. I think aside from that every single bet is off when it comes to people on that roster. Some of them are going to do well, and some of them are going to be unhappy.”
WWE is changing a lot of things around because Vince McMahon couldn’t wait to build new stars. He wants established talent, and he wants it now. This caused a big creative shift in the company that fans will soon see play out on television.
On top of Paul Heyman’s exit from his executive director role on WWE RAW, Ringside News exclusively reported that they gave a promotion to Ed Koskey to a SVP role on WWE Creative. The company also brought back a former head writer that they fired last year.
