How Long WWE Planned Matt Riddle Main Roster Call-Up

Matt Riddle is finally getting his main roster call-up this week. He will debut on Friday Night SmackDown and fans who only watch FOX will soon know what the Original Bro is all about.

PW Insider reports that bringing Matt Riddle up to the main roster is a pay-off for plans they had prior to WrestleMania. They started discussing his call-up several weeks ago in a more serious nature after they were put on pause.

There have been plans to move Riddle to the blue brand since before Wrestlemania 36 but they had been on pause coming out of that PPV.  Talk of the plans finally going into effect started making the rounds several weeks ago.

Matt Riddle will battle Timothy Thatcher in a cage match this week on WWE NXT. That match will only be ended via KO or submission. This seems like a fitting final match for the former UFC fighter.
