Former WWE Superstar On Being Buried Backstage By People With Their Own Agenda

WWE can be a tough company to succeed in. Ringside News recently exclusively reported that working in WWE is now a “game of survival.” This is something Darren Young knows all too well.

While speaking to The Lewis Nicholls Show, Darren Young revealed that Vince McMahon always said that: “nervous people don’t draw money.” Young said that he talked Vince McMahon about yoga because McMahon wanted to know how Darren Young got such a big chest.

Then Young had an idea to put him with Bob Backlund. Vince McMahon loved it and they were off and running with the plan. Not everyone had the same idea.

“It’s just unfortunate that the people who work under Vince McMahon didn’t have my back and they had their own agenda because it wasn’t their idea and if it was their idea then it would have been over even more. They would have got the machine behind it even more if it was their idea.”

Young remembers making The Miz tap out to the crossface chicken wing. He said the arena of fans “erupted”

He was then told by Triple H that he wasn’t allowed to use the crossface chicken wing because it was a “dangerous hold.” A little while later, Darren Young discovered that he was told not to do the crossface chicken wing because Asuka was given the move.

Darren Young said that “it broke my heart” when they wouldn’t let him do the crossface chicken wing because it was the Asuka Lock instead.
