WWE had an issue during WrestleMania weekend when they filed a cease and desist on an indie company who wanted to run an event called “In Your Warehouse.” The event was eventually changed and then nixed because WrestleMania pulled out of Tampa. A couple of months later WWE brought back that name.
WWE NXT will hold NXT TakeOver: In Your House on June 7th. This will be a loaded card and you can check out the projected card by clicking here.
In order to make sure that nobody comes close to infringing on their intellectual property again, WWE locked down the In Your House name once again on May 11th.
The filing for the trademark notes that it is for the following:
“Entertainment services, namely, a show about professional wrestling; Entertainment services, namely, the production and exhibition of professional wrestling events rendered live and through broadcast media including television and distributed via various platforms across multiple forms of transmission media; Providing wrestling news and information through broadcast media including television and distributed via various platforms across multiple forms of transmission media; Providing information in the fields of sports and entertainment through broadcast media including television and distributed via various platforms across multiple forms of transmission media; Providing a website in the field of sports entertainment information.”
We’ll have to see if NXT keeps the In Your House name around. It might just be wordplay to coincide with the novel coronavirus pandemic. Then again, WWE can do whatever they want with the names for their TakeOver events.
