Who Was Really Supposed To Win 2020 Money In The Bank Match

WWE’s Money In The Bank ladder matches were very different this time around. The winners were Otis and Asuka, but only Asuka’s briefcase already had the title inside. This wasn’t WWE’s original plan.

We previously reported that WWE had an opponent lined up for Becky Lynch at Money In The Bank. She would have retained the title and then prepared herself for Ms. Money In The Bank.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reported that Shayna Baszler was supposed to capture the 2020 Women’s Money In The Bank briefcase. This would have set up The Queen Of Spades vs The Man once again.

Baszler was originally booked to win MITB and be Lynch’s main rival for the title.

Obviously, plans were changed so Asuka is the new RAW Women’s Champion. Shayna Baszler is far from over as she cut a scathing promo on Becky Lynch for getting pregnant. Now we might have an idea why Baszler’s words were so especially cutting this week as she said “that kid’s gonna suck.”
