Otis won the Money In The Bank ladder match. Fans were really surprised to see Otis with the briefcase at the end of the match. He was pretty shocked to hear the news himself.
While speaking to Sports Illustrated, Otis revealed his initial reaction when discovering that he would win the 2020 Money In The Bank ladder match. This guarantees him a title shot down the line. It is happening, but the moment didn’t seem real until he was holding that briefcase in his hands.
“I found out and was like, ‘What?’ When the briefcase got into my hands, that’s when it felt real. I remember watching the first ‘Money in the Bank’ match at WrestleMania, and it blows my mind that I woke up right next to it this morning.”
Otis is stepping out on his own now. Ringside News exclusively reported that Otis is now a singles performer. You can never say never about reforming Heavy Machinery down the line, but now he is doing his own thing as more than just a comedy wrestler.
“I’ve heard I’m just a big man comedy wrestler,” said Otis. “I’ll admit it, I’m always the loud one in the room. But when it’s time for business, it’s time for business. Can I be in the main event? Let’s do it. If I sink, then that’s on me. I love wrestling, and I’m going to show people that I can do it.”
Today was a big day for Otis because they filmed the first episode of Friday Night SmackDown with him as Mr. Money In The Bank. Braun Strowman is the Universal Champion now, but Otis might be able to sneak in and capture that title when the Monster Among Men is least expecting it. Or, Otis could hold onto his briefcase for an entire year and let his contract expire if he wants to.
