Everyone has their personal demons. Former ROH owner Cary Silkin recently revealed very public about his previous dealings with Tony Atlas. Apparently, the two once shared a certain liking to cocaine.

Cary Silkin was brought into the conversation about why Tony Atlas never got that big push in WWE. The conversation revolved around a card from 1981 where Tony Atlas pinned Hulk Hogan in an “added attraction” match.

Hogan was on his way out of the company, so Atlas got the win. There were plans to push Tony Atlas, but it never materialized.

One fan pondered while tagging Cary Silkin on Twitter: “Atlas never really got a big push. He was just another extra on the card after prelim guys. He should have been pushed better but who knows the real reason he wasn’t.” Then Cary Silkin replied:

I smoked cocaine with him at the hotel on eighth Avenue In 86 or 87

Tony Atlas has been open about his personal demons, and so has Silkin. When this seemed to surprise people, Silkin asked: “Why would that surprise you?”

The dangers of drug addiction should never be downplayed. There are a number of Superstars who never reached their true potential because of one substance or another. Now fans can hear stories like this as an example of what not to do.
