CM Punk saw Drew McIntyre’s big win at WrestleMania and he was happy for him. When WWE picked Seth Rollins as McIntyre’s next opponent, Punk approved of that as well. Seth Rollins could be a long-term opponent for McIntyre if you ask Punk.

While appearing on WWE Backstage, CM Punk was asked about the WWE Title’s next challenger. He likes the idea of Rollins vs McIntyre and said that the two could be together for a while.

CM Punk went on to say that Seth Rollins is too hard on himself when he’s in a top spot. Now Seth Rollins will have a chip on his shoulder which could provide that little extra something to make the story relatable for fans.

“I think this is the best possible spot for Seth to be in and the best possible spot for Drew to be in. Like Booker said sometimes you want some guys to be married and not for just the length of the next pay-per-view if done right these guys could go and extend their rivalry to SummerSlam, maybe even beyond.”

“I think Seth puts a lot of unnecessary pressure on himself when he’s the guy. So, if he’s not the guy I think that puts a little chip on his shoulder, gives him something to prove. Drew being this big ass-kicker of a guy I think with his story people related to him and he could get sympathy and Seth Rollins is the guy to do it.”

WWE can only hope that bringing Seth Rollins back to the WWE Title picture will pique fans’ interest. The company garnered an incredibly low rating for the show this week.

CM Punk will be watching along with the rest of us to see what WWE does next with Rollins and McIntyre. We’ll know a lot more as the weeks progress toward Money In The Bank on May 10th.
