While he may not exactly be in the prime of his career these days, there was once a time when Rob Van Dam was the most exciting star in professional wrestling.

The former WWE Championship holder has had many great highlights over the years, with many of them taking place in WWE and TNA – as well as his initial days in Extreme Championship Wrestling.

Interestingly enough, when he arrived in WWE, there was an element of his in-ring work that was pretty familiar to another top WWE star.

When we look back on the career of RVD when he finally hangs up his boots for good, we hope he’s remembered for being one of the most unique individuals the business has ever seen.

We all hope to see RVD return to WWE one day, if only for one more match or a Hall of Fame induction, especially considering he’ll be turning 50 this year.
