The Undertaker and AJ Styles battled in an unconventional match during a very unusual WrestleMania event. The two fought in a cinematic Boneyard Match that received a fair amount of praise. The Undertaker enjoyed himself, but he doesn’t know if WWE will do it again.

WWE seems to be leaning toward frequent cinematic matches. They aired the Firefly Fun House match and Gargano vs Ciampa’s epic NXT battle since the Boneyard Match’s premiere. AJ Styles warned against overusing the cinematic concept or it could lose its special feeling.

While speaking with Nine Lives Apparel on live stream, The Undertaker opened up about the Boneyard Match. He is happy with what they were able to do given the situation they were in. Taker doesn’t know if WWE will do another Boneyard Match, but they wanted to give fans something they weren’t expecting at WrestleMania.

“It was different. To me… it was entertaining. It made you think. You know, and it puts you in that state like, ‘okay, where are they going and what are they going to do?’ Again, I think for the circumstances, I thought it worked. Can I give you all the nuances of it? No, because I wasn’t there and I don’t know. I don’t know what the whole psychology of it was.”

“But for that for this WrestleMania and you know, the things that the parameters that we had on us, I thought it worked and it was like, you didn’t take your eyes off of it because you were like, ‘what the hell’s coming next?’ Definitely not traditional. I don’t know if you’ll ever see another one or if you do. It would be it would probably different. But I don’t know, man. You know, sometimes you got to make chicken salad out of chicken shit.”

The Undertaker will likely wrestle again, but we’re not certain how soon that will be. Right now WWE is trying to get through this novel coronavirus situation like everyone else.

We’ll have to see if WWE ever books another Boneyard Match, but it doesn’t seem to be out of the question.
