Drew McIntyre won the WWE Title from Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 36. It was a very emotional moment for McIntyre and he broke one of WWE’s big television rules in the process.
Since he’s making a lot of interview rounds, McIntyre is getting opportunities to remember his past. His appearance on WWE The Bump was no different.
Sheamus appeared during McIntyre’s interview and he spoke about how proud he is of Drew. They came up together and had the same dream. Along with Wade Barrett, they arrived in WWE together and now McIntyre has reached his goal.
The Celtic Warrior capped his pre-recorded message off by saying how he knows that Drew McIntyre’s mother is smiling at him as she looks down from Heaven. McIntyre thanked his best mate for the kind words. Then he stated that he’s not going to cry. People have apparently been trying to bring out this reaction from him all weekend.
“Trying to make me cry. People have been doing this on social media for the past couple of days leading up to WrestleMania. Getting everyone I grew up with, people I’m close with. Getting all these personal messages, obviously Sheamus there my best friend. It means a lot.”
“I was told in the first day of my training to be nice to everybody. The same people you see on the way up are the people you see on the way down and I heard that. I’ve been up and I’ve been down. I just always try to be nice. It just seems like a lot of people were touched who I came across in my life and my career. It means a lot to say such positive things, especially Sheamus there, but you’re not going to make me cry.”
Heath Slater appeared next, but he was on the show live. Slater Baby had a much happier conversation with McIntyre. Slater had a chance to tell Drew how excited he is for him. Then McIntyre said that Heath Slater is going to take the Universal Title from Braun Strowman and have a complete 3MB takeover.
Slater did conclude his time on WWE The Bump by telling McIntyre once again how proud his mother is of him. That one made McIntyre hide his face for a bit, but he didn’t cry.
So many people are very happy about Drew McIntyre’s WWE Title win, but you’re not going to get him crying about it.
