The COVID-19 pandemic is not getting any better. Social isolation is being practiced, but far too many people are still getting sick. This is why New Japan Pro Wrestling must make another difficult decision.

NJPW hoped that they could be back in business by their March 31st Sakura Genesis event. That’s not happening now.

NJPW’s Sakura Genesis event and Road To Dontaku show on April 11th have been called are. The company explained their reasoning in a public address.

“Acting under the latest recommendations laid out by the Japanese Ministry of Health, New Japan Pro-Wrestling has arrived at the decision to cancel Sakura Genesis, which was scheduled to take place Tuesday, March 31 in Ryogoku Sumo Hall, and the Road to Dontaku event that was scheduled to take place in Sagamihara on Saturday, April 11.”

This is further proof that the COVID-19 situation isn’t going to get better until more sacrifices are made. People might have to stay inside and possibly change their social behavior for the rest of their lives after that. Everyone will be so much happier to exist in a world without COVID-19 if we can all bind together for this short time and eradicate this awful disease.
