WWE had a lot of decisions to make for WrestleMania 36. The road to this year’s show of shows was an interesting one full of several booking changes. Only one match was never messed with.
During Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer discussed the WrestleMania card. He mentioned that the only match WWE had booked since November was Becky Lynch vs Shayna Baszler. He went on to say that the match was booked for several months, if not a year.

He stated that Roman Reigns was supposed to win the Royal Rumble with McIntyre or Black winning the title opportunity at the Elimination Chamber pay-per-view. Of course, this year saw no men’s Elimination Chamber match.
Even John Cena was originally slated to face Elias. Goldberg only had three weeks to prepare for his WWE return, so that was short notice as well. Now the WrestleMania card looks nothing close to how it was originally booked.
There are a few big matches booked for WrestleMania 36. The Man vs The Queen Of Spades is the first big contest that Vince McMahon booked for the event that they are actually following through with.
