WWE aired the entire 2020 Men’s Royal Rumble on RAW this week. Ringside News exclusively reported that before the broadcast started. An interesting thing was noted when looking at the ratings from this week regarding the re-airing of that match.

Dave Meltzer broke down the RAW ratings this week during Wrestling Observer Radio. RAW saw an increase in viewership and the highest rating they’d attained since February. A majority of that viewership is because WWE re-aired a pay-per-view match on USA Network.

“This rating was because they put the Royal Rumble on TV and stretched it out to almost two hours and people watched because it was the Royal Rumble on free television.”

WWE will do everything they can to keep programming on the air during this terrible coronavirus pandemic. They might have to air older pay-per-view matches in the process. That seems to be effective in keeping viewers tuned in who are looking for a distraction during this awful time.
