WWE is carrying on with WrestleMania 36 this year in spite of the coronavirus. The event will be two-days to make it even more historic on top of the already unusual and terrible circumstances.
While speaking to Metro, Edge discussed how important that it is for WWE to carry on with the show of shows.
The company provides a diversion for fans. This world can be terrible and scary right now and WWE Superstars are doing what they can to help people forget about their problems for a few hours.
“This year more than any year we are all in the midst of something we have never experienced before, the world really needs outlets. Whether that is books, whether that is movies, whatever it is, just to be able to try and forget and laugh and have fun and remember what it is to be human.”
“Here’s how I’ve always looked at this job. My responsibility is to make you forget your responsibilities for two or three hours a day, or during that show. That is a huge responsibility, and it’s a privilege. I don’t look past it. I didn’t have it for nine years. Now I come back, and the gravity of that responsibility is not lost on me.
“Sure, it’s entertainment. Yes, we’re jumping around in tights. But a time like this, it’s very, very important. I truly believe that.”
Edge already had some words with Roman Reigns about who will main event the WrestleMania 36 card. Since they have two nights to fill that means two matches will receive that honor.
This is a very interesting time in world history. Pro wrestling news is moving fast and there’s a lot going on. We thank you so much once again for reading about it here at Ringside News.
