WWE doesn’t want their Superstars affiliated with AEW in any way. They are going the extra mile to ensure that.

During Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer explained WWE’s new policy. They want to keep their Superstars far away from All Elite Wrestling stars. Now event organizers must make a choice between companies if they want WWE Superstars to appear.

“There is an event called the Big Event in New York on Saturday and Matt Hardy was booked on the convention. Some WWE guys were booked as well. The convention guys were basically told you cannot book anyone from AEW. That’s one of the rules now that if you book a WWE guy anywhere you know baseball game, autograph signing, Wizard World — that nobody from AEW is allowed. That’s just their rule.”

This seems to be a rule from WWE’s side. It’s uncertain if AEW cares that their stars are booked on the same events as WWE Superstars.

Matt Hardy was pulled from the event due to his AEW affiliation. He was replaced by Terry Funk. This took place despite the fact that Hardy did not debut on AEW Dynamite this week seemingly as a way to avoid being pulled from The Big Event.
