WWE is switching up their WrestleMania card. Right now the blue brand is a toss-up. Only two matches are certain and neither of them are from Friday Night SmackDown.
During Busted Open Radio, Bully Ray discussed WWE’s current WrestleMania direction. At this point it seems that the entire SmackDown side of the card is up in the air and that includes the Universal Title match.
“I’ve heard rumblings within the WWE. Nothing is set in stone on on the SmackDown side of WrestleMania. When it comes to the Universal Championship for WrestleMania, a lot of matches are in a ‘state of flux.’ I think we only have two definitive matches so far set, you know, Brock [Lesnar] and Drew McIntyre plus Charlotte [Flair] and Rhea [Ripley], everything else is up for grabs.”
Vince McMahon could make a very bold decision to just put the Universal Title on Goldberg. It might go down at WWE Super ShowDown, but it’s totally his decision.
One loss for The Fiend doesn’t have to mean the end of his push. WWE needs to bring the biggest money matches to the table, especially if they’re looking at selling those streaming rights fees.
