Tony Schiavone took years away from the pro wrestling business. He went back to baseball and football commentary. He also became a sh*tty barista for a short time.

While speaking to Sportskeeda, Schiavone discussed his role in AEW. He’s proud of the company, but when asked if he things they will be able to rival WWE in terms of size he’s not quite sure about that.

“I don’t know if AEW will ever be as big as the WWE; with a Network, and the reach that they have overseas, because WWE has been around for a long time.”

“But, I’d like to see it be a viable part of wrestling — I’d like it to be a place where very good professional wrestlers – both men and women – can come and make a good living, and be treated fairly… that’s what I’d like AEW to be.”

AEW Dynamite is obviously making WarnerMedia happy. They are certainty bringing more viewers to the network than they previously had on Wednesday nights.

We’ll have to see what AEW’s next steps are. It will be a long time before they can be compared to WWE in terms of size, but that’s why they are concentrating on so many other little things to help move the company along.
