AEW Dynamite ended in a bloody cage match this week. Cody Rhodes defeated Wardlow, and the entire look of the match was a refreshing old-school feel to it. The blood certainly helped.

During Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer discussed the cage match main event for Dynamite this week. There was a considerable amount of blood which is something pro wrestling fans don’t see very much of anymore.

It was noted that TNT is “very much behind” AEW as they are “underdogs.” That being said, the network was totally fine with all the blood.

“We had a lot of blood on television which is very interesting. I mean, obviously they had to clear it ahead of time. You know TNT is very much behind these guys for obvious reasons. They know they’re underdogs in a lot of ways and they’re giving them leeway because they know they’re in a fight.”

TNT has proven to be a great partner for AEW so far. They not only allow All Elite Wrestling to drop the S-Bomb on television, but blood is obviously not off the table either.

Meanwhile, WWE doesn’t do “blood and guts” programming. This also makes Shayna Baszler’s bloody Becky Lynch bite even more interesting; especially considering the fact that she followed it up the next week by saying that she’s going to “tear the sh*t out” of The Man at WrestleMania.
