Kofi Kingston Reveals Why He Started Wearing Pigtails

Kofi Kingston is known for his charisma and incredible ability in the ring. His hair has also received a bit of a spotlight in the past as well.

During The New Day: Feel The Power, they discussed hair loss. Big E outed Zack Ryder for putting powder in his hair to cover up baldness.

Then Kofi Kingston addressed a question that a lot of fans have had. His pigtails are famous at this point, but it all started for Kofi as a joke during a European Tour.

“This actually kind of started off as a joke because we used to be overseas and we were just becoming heels, bad dudes. And everybody’s like, ‘Kofi’s never going to be a bad guy. No one’s ever going to boo him,’ and I was like, ‘man, what would be really obnoxious as a man to do?’ ‘I’m going to come out in pigtails.’ We were in Europe and I just put my hair in pigtails. And everybody was like, ‘oh!’ And then, it became a thing now. We’ve got action figures with pigtails on them. Do you know what I’m saying? So one day, I’m not going to be able to have pigtails, okay?”

Kofi Kingston is now rocking blonde hair which is even more attention-getting. WWE Superstars typically need to ask permission before changing up their look. It seems like WWE is very trusting of Kingston to do what he needs to do because it’s obviously worked out for him so far.
