The return of Edge at the Royal Rumble last night quite literally sent shockwaves throughout the WWE Universe – and the pro wrestling world as a whole.
The Rated R Superstar retired back in 2011 after WrestleMania 27 due to ongoing issues with his neck. Ever since then the expectation has been that he’d never come back as the problems were far too severe, but now, he’s been cleared for action once again.
Even watching him compete at this stage is as scary as it is exciting, but for a lot of fans, alongside the wrestlers themselves, this was one of the best Rumble moments in a long time.
While everyone has always known that Edge is a big fan of The Revival as a team, it turns out that they’re even closer than people initially thought. As you can see by Wilder’s passionate tweet, the Hall of Famer has done even more for him than we could’ve imagined.
When you talk about guys who are respected on a whole other level, Edge resides within that class. From his early days in the business all the way through until he became the multi-time world champion that he is today, Edge is a pretty special superstar to have around again.
Nobody really knows the direction that he’s going to be going in between now and WrestleMania 36, but it’s going to be fascinating to see it all unfold.
At the very least, fans will always be able to look back on this night with a smile on their face.
