WWE thought that it would be a great idea to put some advertisements for NXT in the New York City Subway system. They didn’t account for AEW fans having their own ideas.
The word might be getting out that NXT is on the USA Network. What they probably didn’t expect was that this would spark an NYC edition of the Wednesday Night Wars.
Someone spray painted “AEW BE ELITE TNT TNT” on the poster for NXT. You can check out the graffiti below. This particular incident took place at the 182 & Grand Station.
This means that an AEW fan was walking around NYC with spray paint and they happened to come across this advertisement. Or, they saw the advertisement and went to go fetch their paint. Either way, it definitely shows intent.
