It’s been a while since we’ve seen Johnny Gargano on WWE television, and now, as we look ahead to Royal Rumble weekend and beyond, it’s time to start talking about the former NXT Champion and what he’s going to be bringing to the table upon his return to action.
Johnny Wrestling has been officially booked in two pretty exciting matches in the form of a tag bout at Worlds Collide where he’ll be reuniting with Tommaso Ciampa, and a singles match at TakeOver: Portland in which he will try and finally settle his ongoing feud with Finn Balor.
Before all of that, though, Gargano was happy to take a step back and look at his upcoming schedule from a less serious perspective.
Fans have long since wondered whether or not it was just a matter of time before Gargano got the call up to the main roster by either RAW or SmackDown. Now, though, it’s starting to seem as if NXT will continue to be his home for a long time to come.
We’ve heard a lot of people suggest that NXT is the official third brand at this stage, and after their stunning performance at Survivor Series a few months back, it’s hard to deny that.
We’re not sure which of the two above matches we’re more excited for as they both have a great deal of potential, so for now, we’re just going to sit back and enjoy the return of a guy who is easily one of the best workers of his generation.
