WWE Raw brought the best show that they could to kick off 2020. They fell in viewership from last week, but the real telling signs could be which segments gained and lost viewers.
The first hour of WWE Raw this week did 2,550,000 viewers. The second hour pulled in 2,409,000 viewers with the third hour getting 2,195,000 viewers.
After Brock Lesnar started Raw this week only 2 of the 8 segments gained viewership.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter notes that the peak viewership for WWE Raw this week was the opening segment. Brock Lesnar and Paul Heyman did 2,717,000 viewers. Then Andrade vs Rey Mysterio lost 97,000 viewers.
If you look at those numbers it appears nearly 100,000 viewers decided to turn off the show when Brock Lesnar left.
The triple threat Raw Tag Team Title match lost 175,000. Becky Lynch’s segment with Asuka lost another 25,000 viewers.
AJ Styles and Randy Orton’s angle lost 60,000 viewers. AJ Styles vs Akira Tozawa did gain 11,000 viewers. Then Lana and Bobby Lashley’s segment lost another 1,000 viewers.
The AOP & Seth Rollins vs. Samoa Joe & Big Show & Kevin Owens gained 138,000 viewers. The show ended at 2,190,000 viewers this week.
