While Andrade was able to strip Rey Mysterio of his mask on Monday Night RAW, it certainly didn’t take long for the master of the 619 to come back and get his own form of revenge on the United States Champion.
These two men have been feuding for what feels like forever, with Rey clearly being used as an indicator of just how good Andrade can be – and also as an indicator of how long it’s going to take before the Mexican sensation makes the jump up to the main event scene.
While he seems to be a bit preoccupied right now, it certainly feels like just a matter of time before we see Andrade going after either the WWE or Universal Championship.
As opposed to letting Mysterio’s attack on RAW get to him, though, Andrade took a slightly different approach and instead laughed off the advances of Mysterio – before reminding the world that he is the one who captured the United States Championship on Boxing Day.
The US title could really use a bit of a facelift, and we mean that both in terms of the belt’s physical appearance and the way in which it is viewed amongst the WWE Universe.
We need to see someone have a run with the belt that is legitimately going to pour everything they’ve got into making it one of the most valuable championships in the business. Regardless of whether or not you like him, it certainly feels as if Andrade is trying to do just that.
