AJ Styles seems to be having a great time with the OC in WWE, but The Phenomenal One’s career appears to be approaching its conclusion. He recently signed a new WWE contract, but he might not add more time to that deal.

While speaking to Busted Open Radio, AJ Styles revealed to Mark Henry that his energy isn’t what it used to be. Everyone gets slower with age, even AJ Styles. He doesn’t want to be remembered for any matches where he’s not performing at the top of his ability.

“I think I am. You know, Mark [Henry], you get older. You go, ‘Where the freak did my energy go? Why don’t I have that useless burst of energy that I had way back when.’ You can see that starting to deplete and I’ve said this before, I don’t want to be that AJ Styles that everybody goes, ‘Wow, I wish he could still do that’ or, ‘Oh wow, he’s really slow.’ I don’t want that. I wanna be the AJ Styles that people will remember and go out that way. Will I be like I was when I was 25? There’s no way. It’s just not possible.”

AJ Styles isn’t retiring right away. He still has the rest of this WWE contract to wrap up. He is a family man and wants to be able to have a healthy retirement. Styles has also experienced a ton of success in and out of WWE already so his legacy is already strongly intact.
