Rhea Ripley isn’t afraid of many things, but she doesn’t want to get dropped.

While speaking to Sports Illustrated, the new NXT Women’s Champion admitted that she was “absolutely terrified” during her post-match celebration. She had just won the NXT Women’s Title and her peers were lifting her in celebration.

Ripley said that she doesn’t get picked up very often. So, she was very afraid that they’d drop her. Then she got a much better view of the situation while being hoisted in victory.

“I don’t really get picked up too often, so I was absolutely terrified. At one point, they put me up on the corner of the ring, and I looked into the crowd and saw this fan named Kyle, who is always at all of our shows and everyone knows as the ‘Florida Wrestling Fan.’ I don’t know what it is about Kyle, but I feel very comfortable when he’s there, maybe just ’cause I see his face all the time. I saw him, and he goes, ‘Crowd surf!’ And I thought, ‘That is a bad ass idea.’ So I looked at the fellas around me and was like, ‘Reckon everyone can hold me for a crowd surf?’

Rhea Ripley has a bright future ahead of her in WWE. She is also starting what could be an impressive reign as NXT Women’s Champion. Shayna Baszler’s shoes might be hard to fill, but it looks like Ripley is up for the task.
