WWE 205 Live consists of some of the hardest working Superstars on the roster, but they don’t get much love. The purple rope show is now after Friday Night SmackDown after the blue brand left Tuesdays, but they still can’t retain much of an audience.

NXT adopted the Cruiserweight Title which gives it way more exposure. This makes sense considering the fact that Triple H took the reins of 205 Live a while ago. This will not keep them on the air for the remainder of 2019.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter noted that WWE has pulled 205 Live for December 20th and 27th. Those shows would have taken place in Brooklyn and Detroit respectively. Instead, WWE will be airing “Best Of 2019 shows” following Friday Night SmackDown on the WWE Network.

Coincidentally, 205 Live just celebrated a birthday not too long ago. There was no indication in this report that 205 Live won’t be back in 2020.

This is a bit of a bummer for fans of 205 Live. At this point it seems like WWE is finding a lot of reasons to cancel the Cruiserweight Showcase. We’ll have to see what 2020 brings 205 Live and its Superstars, but it appears that they will get the rest of the year off.
